If you've heard that Hamsher closed, we want to set the record straight. We are still here, still serving Fox Lake and the surrounding communities, and still available 24 hours a day.


What changed is our building. In 2025, Mat Olejniczak — our owner and funeral director — sold the Hamsher property. But the business, the staff, and the commitment to this community didn't go anywhere.



For families who need funeral home space for services, we have partnerships with trusted locations in Lake Villa, Ingleside, and McHenry. Everything else remains exactly the same.

About Mat Olejniczak

Mat has been a funeral director for more than twenty years. He purchased Hamsher in 2015 because he believed in what this funeral home meant to Fox Lake. He lives here, he's involved here, and he's committed to serving this community for years to come.
