S. Wieczorek

William "Bill" Wieczorek, 78, a longtime resident of Ingleside and Fox Lake, died February 1, 2020, at home. He was born in Chicago, July 23, 1941, to the late William A. and Marie E. (nee Wold) Wieczorek.
At an early age, Bill's family moved to a home on Dunn's Lake. Here, Bill enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting. He attended the one-room Lotus Grade School, where he was one of 16 students. Bill went on to graduate from Grant Community High School in 1959, and attended Kendall College. Wanting to get into the technology field, he graduated from the Automation Institute of Chicago, where he learned to wire a board.
Bill had a long career, mostly as Vice President of Operations and Software. He worked for Dart and Kraft in Northbrook and Seymour Mandell and Associates, where he was a tabulating operator. He moved on to executive positions with Addressograph in Mount Prospect, Household International, the State of Washington, and Kemper Insurance—Life Division. Bill retired in 2002, and went on to established Tri-County Home Inspections, which he successfully ran until his recent illness.
He enjoyed yard work, being outside, downhill skiing out West, remodeling homes, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition, he was a 26-year member of the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (nee Yater); children, Lisa and David; stepchildren, Timothy (Lori), Kevin (Julia), and Lynn (Dan); grandchildren, Drew, Britney, Meagan, Nicholas, Lindsay, Lauren, Forrest, Thea, and Malcolm; great grandchild, Talon; sister, Carole (Donald) Andrews; niece, Becky (Andy) Honaker; and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Steven; and former wife, Janice Wieczorek.
Visitation Friday, February 7, from 4-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
Mass 8 a.m., Saturday, February 8, at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside. All are invited to go directly to the church. Burial to follow at Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name may be made to the American Cancer Society , Suncrest Hospice, Wounded Warriors , Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church , or the Fox Lake Fire Protection District.
