William S. Duke, 84, formerly of Chicago, at rest Friday, October 6, 2023.  Husband of the late Joan (nee Wagner); dad of Joanne Duke Stoll; grandpa of the late Alvin G. Stoll V; brother of the late Mary and Jim; uncle of Sandie and Barbara; son of the late James and Anna (nee Winger).  William was a veteran of the Air Force, a Mason, lifetime member of the American Legion, and retired as Captain from the Chicago Fire Department after 30 years of service.  He was a founding member of the Northside Fire Brigade and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Visitation Thursday, October 12, from 5-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N.
