William "Bruce" McDaniel, 79, of Fox Lake, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at home.  He was born November 27, 1942, in Brilliant, AL, to the late J.D. and Gladys (nee Elliott) McDaniel.

Bruce was an Army veteran of the Korean War.  He worked at Anchor Coupling for more than 20 years, and went on to work at Medline for 26 years.  Bruce enjoyed traveling, gardening, yardwork, and motorcycles.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Cathy McDaniel; sons, Bruce (Cherea) McDaniel Jr., of Baraboo, WI, Matthew (Kristin) McDaniel  of Baraboo, WI, and Danny McDaniel of Toccoa, GA; stepson, James Brunkow of Salt Lake City, UT; many grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, Stan (Sally) McDaniel; sister-in-law, Dorthy McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Paul and Danny McDaniel.

Visitation Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Burial will follow in East Fox Lake Cemetery, Lake Villa.
