Virginia Jenkins, 74, a long time resident of Lake Villa, passed away Thursday, October 21, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 28, 1935 in Waukegan to Carl Trommer and Germaine (nee Brignac).
Ginger was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard. She played cards with the same group of women for over 50 years. She was a caregiver to everyone, loved her family, was an avid shopper and enjoyed cooking big meals for special occasions. She was very giving of herself, compassionate, always was there for her family and friends, enjoyed traveling and road trips. Anywhere she went, she made friends with everyone. She also volunteered a lot of her time at St. Bede Church.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Bill Jenkins; her children: Cindy (Jim) Vorhies of Craig, CO, Jeff (Chris Gillihan) Jenkins of Waukegan, Lori (Mike) Nyre of Antioch, Todd (Cathy) Jenkins of Cape Coral, FL; her grandchildren: Nicole (Brian) Hickory and Zachary Vorhies, Danyelle, Allyson and Courtney Jenkins, Stephanie, Michael and Alan Nyre, Cody and Jazmyn Jenkins; her sisters Rosemary Richardson and Evelyn Reinbach, and many dear friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 from 5 PM until 7 PM at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd, Fox Lake.
Funeral mass will be Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at 9:30 AM at St. Bede Catholic Church.
Interment Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Libertyville.
