Viola C. Snyder (nee Freund), 96, of McHenry, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at home surrounded by family, dear friends, and her beloved caregiver, Josephina Leib.

She was born July 29, 1919, in Johnsburg, to the late Peter and Susie (nee Miller) Freund.

Viola worked as a supervisor for Oak Industries for over 30 years and was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sister, LaVerna Stone of McHenry; niece, Susan (James) Geisler of Norton Shores, MI; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Robert in 2015; sisters, Alice (Bob) Wilke and Caroline (Everett) Thomas; and by brother-in-law, John Stone.

The visitation will be Friday, March 18, from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 Church St., Johnsburg, IL 60051.  Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Viola's name may be made to the Church.
