Theresa Calamia (nee Fichera), 99, a longtime resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, at Hillcrest Nursing Center, Round Lake Beach.

She was born January 25, 1917, in Chicago, to the late Thomas and Theresa (nee Graziano).

Theresa retired from Johns Manville in Waukegan.  She was also an avid bowler, who enjoyed stained glass, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, and sewing.

Survivors include her children, Mary Ann (Joseph) Nowak of Spring Grove, Salvatore (Erika) Calamia of Chicago, and Theresa (James) Quinn of Round Lake Beach; grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas, Barbara, and Walter Nowak, Heidi (Brett) Galati, and Kelli and Casey Quinn; great-grandchildren, Christina and Michelle Nowak and Rebecca and Gregory Gilley; great-great grandchildren, Jonathan, Elijah, Katelynn, Conner, David, Gracie, Donte, Andrea, and Javias; and by her best friend, Pepper.

She was preceded in death by her husband Salvatore Calamia, Sr.; dear friends, Clarence Figgins and Bob Pavesic; and by siblings, Joseph Fichera, Mamie Sansone, and John Fichera.

The visitation will be Friday, February 19, from 10 a.m. until the time of prayer service at 1:30 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
