Theodore L. Freund 67
of Fox Lake for 14 years and former lifelong resident of Johnsburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9 at Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville. He was born January 27, 1945 to Anthony and Agnes (nee Hettermann) Freund in Johnsburg.


Ted loved golfing, he organized an annual golf outing in Wisc., a longtime member of the Sunday Morning league at Pistakee Golf Club and Monday Afternoon league in Johnsburg. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating, bowling, hunting, was a member of the Johnsburg Tiger Old-timer's Baseball team, member & treasurer of the Johnsburg Community Club and longtime member of The Catholic Order of Forrester's.
Ted was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family, he has been a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and attended St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside. He held an annual Christmas get together for friends for 12 years.
He worked for Motorola over r30 years.
Mr. Freund proudly served in the United States Navy on the S.S. Duncan in Vietnam.


He is survived by his dear wife, Janine (nee Mautz) with whom he has been married for 15 years;
his cherished children, Todd Freund, Jessica (Eric) Toussaint, step-daughter Karyn McElroy; grand children, Zach, Luke, Payton, Tray, step-grandchildren Finn and Briella; his siblings, Robert Freund, Elaine (Stan) Pankiewicz, Marlene (Wally) Berg, and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


A visitation will be held Tues., Sept., 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Wed., Sept. 12, from 8:30 until 9:10 a.m. where prayers will be said at The K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home in Fox Lake, then departing for the 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg, interment will follow in church cemetery. All are invited to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning for Mass.
