Arndt "Ted" Matthei Age 79

A resident of Spring Grove and a longtime resident of Ingleside, Il. died Saturday Feb. 28, 2009 at the Northern Il. Medical Center in Mc Henry.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1929 to Arndt and Margaret (nee Condon) Matthei and was united in marriage to Joyce Parker on August 12, 1950 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Spring Grove. He was employed with Grant Community High School in Fox Lake for 44 years, retiring as Superintendant of Buildings Grounds and Transportation. He was a longtime member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside, and was a proficient handyman who enjoyed taking care of his home and yard.
He will be greatly missed by: His wife of over 58 yrs., Joyce (nee Parker) of Spring Grove, Il. Children: William (Jody) Matthei of Ingleside, Patricia Rithamel of Antioch, Margaret Matthei of Wauconda. Grandchildren: William (Tiffany), Kristen, Bryan, Lindsey, Morgan, Ken, Jason and Kathy. Great Grandchildren: Des, Trevor, Regan and Logan. Sister: Margaret Landry of Cal. His Brother-in-laws: Butch Parker of Co., Gordon Parker of Ohio, Wayne Parker of Cal. and by his former son-in-law: Tom Rithamel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws: Pete Landry and Guy Parker.
