Sulev Ahven, 65, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at his home.  He was born February 22, 1952, in Chicago, to the late Joachim and Hilja (nee Magraken) Ahven.

A devoted grandfather and jack-of-all-trades, Sulev served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his children, David Kloepffer, Christopher Ahven, and Courtney (David) Meservey; grandchildren, Lauren, Meagan, Jeremy, Katelyn, Benjamin, and Jaxson, Christopher, and Nicholas, Kylie, and Maddax; and siblings, Kersti and Alan Ahven.

In addition to his parents, Sulev was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Ahven, in 1990.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sulev's name may be given to the veteran-service organization of your choice.
