Stanley Horton 83 of McHenry
Stanley Horton, 83, of McHenry, Ill for 29 years, formerly of Bangor, Mich., died Friday, Jul. 30, 2010 at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1927 to Harley and Myrtle (nee Buley) Horton in South Haven, Mich.
Stanley enjoyed bowling, scratch golfing, playing cards, and was an avid baseball fan. Mr. Horton helped organize the little league program in Bangor and actively coached the teams which included his own children.
He is survived by his dear children; Thomas Horton of Elkhart, IN, Cynthia (Eric) Samuel of Allegan, Mich., Michelle (Edwin) Walker of Mt. Zion, Ill, beloved grandchildren; Andrea Young of Phoenix, Arz., Kim Donovan of Texas, Joey (Kelly) Holland of St. Cloud, Minn. Marisa Baker of Elkhart, In., Jennifer Boulter of Kalamazoo, Mich., Kelly Nook of Grand Rapids, Mich., Adam Walker of Mt. Zion, Ill., and a step-granddaughter Sally Lawes of Plainwell, Mich. And seventeen great grandchildren.
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
Stanley was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, a daughter Sheryl Kugelard, a brother Robert Horton and his parents.
Visitation will be held Wed. Aug. 4, 5 to 8 p.m., with a 10 a.m. service, Thurs. Aug. 5, at D. L. Miller Funeral Home, 258 West Monroe St., Bangor, MI ph 269-427-7551. Interment will follow at Hoppin Cemetery in Bangor.
