Sophie Ann Blackley (nee Degand), 75, of Fox Lake, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville.  She was born June 11, 1950, in Chicago, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Stemper) Degand.

Sophie had a big, loving and generous heart, and kind soul.  She would readily give to anyone who asked her for help.  She enjoyed movies, candy, and ice cream, but her family was her greatest love.

Survivors include her daughter, Jaime D'Andrea; grandson, Skye D'Andrea; siblings, Joseph (Susan) Degand and Elizabeth Johnson; godchildren, Jason and Sara Degand; brother-in-law, Carter Graumann; sister-in-law, Judy Degand; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, James, on June 29, 2002; siblings, Michael, Rick, and Mark Degand, and Michelle Graumann; and brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson.

A celebration of Sophie's life will be held at a future date.
