Shirley Trinski's Obituary

Shirley Hope Trinski, 93, passed away in her Fort Myers, Florida home surrounded by family on March 20, 2016.  The most important thing to remember is not how Shirley died but how she lived!

Born in Sioux City, Iowa to Mildred Morris and Harry Newberg, one of three children, Shirley, was an accomplished Dancer, Model and Arcadia Roller Skater who graduated Senn High School, Chicago in 1940. Shirley then met and married her husband Robert Trinski, Sr. and was his loving wife for 47 years until his death in 1998.  They worked together and founded Arrow Marine Transport and The One Hundred Club Marina in Fox Lake Illinois in 1960, which still operates today.

Shirley was an inspirational icon in the communities she resided in, Fox Lake and Fort Myers.  She often graciously hosted fundraisers as well as society luncheons to raise money for charitable organizations and political campaigns at her homes. She was the President of the Chicago Public Schools PTA in the late 1950s and was honored by the Southwest Florida Symphony Society as Member of the Year. A women of deep faith, she was also a devout parishioner at both St Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside and Resurrection Catholic Church in Fort Myers. She was adventurous, loved boating, dancing, and making the most of every day.  Shirley was extraordinary! She taught all around her to live a very full life—full of many friends and reminded us all to keep smiling!

Shirley is survived by two of her four sons, Michael and James Trinski; grandchildren, Marie Marseglia, Nicole Cavender, Cherie Kaplan, Rebecca Warren, Travis Miller, and Christine Trinski; sister, Beverly Jahnke; sister-in-law, Carol Boas; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Trinski, Sr.; sons, Robert Trinski Jr. and Daniel Trinski; grandson, Jeffery Trinski; brother, Kenneth Boas; brother-in-law, Herb Jahnke; and nephew, Herb Jahnke Jr.

The Trinski family extends their welcome to all who would like to pay respects and attend Shirley's wake Friday, April 1, from 4-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N.
