Shirley M. Heffernan, a Lake County resident of 50 years, formerly of Ortonville, MN, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2013. She was born on July 14, 1926 in Ortonville, MN to Clifford and Marie (nee Hausauer) Oswood.
She loved having fun and spending time with her family.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her dear children, Wallace "Skip" Heffernan of Lake Villa; Susan (Keith) Mielke of Liberty, SC; Frances (Jerome) Preston of Ingleside and Catherine (Albert) Buck of Round Lake Beach; her brother Bernard Oswood of Ortonville, MN; her 7 grandchildren and her 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years parents, Clarence "Mickey" Heffernan in 2009; her grandson, Russell Young in 2013; her siblings, Margaret Henniberg, Annetta Stenzel, Betty Finch, Orville and Donald Oswood; and by her parents.
Services for Shirley will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, in her hometown of Ortonville, MN at Mundwiler-Larson Funeral Home, with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Mound Cemetery in Ortonville.
