Ruth Burns

Ruth J. Burns (nee Shugrue), 76, a 40 year resident of Ingleside, passed away on Saturday September 4, 2010. Ruth was born on August 24, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Timothy and Helen Shugrue.

Ruth was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church Women's Club as well as an attendant of the church. She was formerly employed with the College of Lake County in Grayslake IL, as customer service personnel in the library. Ruth enjoyed camping with her family, spending time with her grandchildren, family, and family pets. She also enjoyed reading and watching movies.

Ruth will be deeply missed by her children; Gerard (Louise) Burns of Ingleside, Elizabeth (Jerry) Pytel of Lemont, Patricia Burns of Ingleside, Ruthie Burns of Genoa City, WI, Bernadette (Richard) Londberg of Richmond; her grandchildren; Angela, Tim, Mary, Peter, and Robert, all of Ingleside IL; Julia Londberg of Richmond.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert I. Burns, with whom she was united in marriage on September 7th, 1957, her daughter Margaret Burns, her brothers Neal, Patrick, and Eugene, and by her sister June Shugrue.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home (the chapel on the lake) 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road in Fox Lake. Everyone is invited to go directly to St. Bede Church 36455 N Wilson Rd., Ingleside for a funeral mass on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
