Russell Edward Hucker, 64 , of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born February 5, 1952, in Waukegan to the late George and Sophie (nee Weber) Hucker, Sr., and married Cindy Melton on August 28, 1971, at St. Bede Catholic Church.

Russ grew up in Ingleside, attended St. Bede School through eighth grade, and graduated Grant Community High School in 1970.  He went on to become a Local 150 Operating Engineer and retired from Berger Excavating with over 25 years.   Russ enjoyed camping, motorcycling, drag racing with his son, spending time in Orange Beach, AL and Naples, FL, and was the number-one cheerleader at his grandsons' baseball games.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; children, Christy Lynn (Robert) Patzin; Trisha Marie Cardona, and RJ (girlfriend Keeley Peterson); grandchildren, Owen and Jack Patzin, and Karsen Cardona; sisters, Dolores Meyer and Rosalie (Gary) Gross; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by grandson, Presley Cardona; and brother, George Hucker, Jr.

The visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.

A Mass to celebrate Russ' life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside.  Inurnment will be private.
