Rosemarie Bieniek
JOHNSBURG - Rosemarie Bieniek, nee Ranft, 73, a resident of Johnsburg for the past two years and formerly of Skokie, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, in Crystal Lake.


She was born to the Ranft family Dec. 5, 1935, in Fritzler, Germany.


She and her husband owned and operated Drake Bowl in Chicago for 12 years, and she also waitressed at the Black Forest Chalet German Restaurant in Morton Grove.


She loved bowling, visiting casinos, traveling, and spending time with her family and especially her grandsons.


She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Barbara (Bryan) Patterson; her grandsons, Brandon and Bryson, all of Johnsburg; and her sisters, Ilse (Alfred) Urbanek of Germany and Gretel (Herbert) Harder of Germany.


She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, August; her sisters, Elsie Woelfel and Erica; and her husband, Matthew Bieniek.


The visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, until the funeral at 12:30 p.m. at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake, in the chapel on the lake. The Rev. Nathan Anderson will officiate.


Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
