Robert V. Snyder, 99, of McHenry, passed away suddenly,  Monday, September 28, 2015, at Centegra Hospital, McHenry.

He was born October 24, 1915, in Fulton, IL, to the late Kirk and Nora (nee Stichter) Snyder.

Bob was an avid tennis player into his 60s and a meticulous home owner.  He took great pride in his woodworking and carpentry work around his home—always looking for another improvement.  In addition to being a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9167.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Viola (nee Freund); nieces, Susan (James) Geisler of Norton Shores, MI and Melissa (Frederic) Cabocel of Arlington, VA; and many grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, John Snyder.

The visitation will be Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg, IL 60051.  Father Jacek Junak will be the celebrant.  Inurnment will be private in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name may be made to St. John the Baptist Church.
