Robert "Cadillac Bob" Madlener, a 20 year resident of Fox Lake , passed away peacefully on June 4, 2013. He was born on March 27, 1959 in Chicago to William and Dolores (nee Good) Madlener.
He was an avid fisherman and an amazing father of three. He was a deep tunnel miner, working all across the United States and, was a proud member of Local Union #2. He was very active and well liked in the community, and has volunteered at Grant Township for the last 15 years. He also cleaned and walked the Fox Lake Bike Path daily.
Robert will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Cathy (nee Stead) Madlener; his dear children, Matthew (Tamara), Michael and Robert Madlener, Jr; his mother, Dolores; his siblings Joan (Chuck) Zabelka, Jean Madlener, Donna (Robert) Steffey, Bill (Linda) and Dave Madlener.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resume on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 9 a.m. at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, IL. Interment will be private.
