Robert Keith Johnson, 73, of Fox Lake, formerly of Ingleside, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at his home.

Born May 17, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Melvin and Madeline (nee Lewis) Johnson, he married Shaila Stanton June 17, 1966, in Monmouth, Illinois.

A graduate of Lake Forest High School, Robert attended Monmouth College and went on to have a 40-year career as a data processor in information technology.  He was a resident of the Fox Lake area for over 45 years, and volunteered with little league baseball for 30 years, Cub Scouts, and Webelos.  Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, computers, and restoring cars.

In addition to his wife, Shaila, Robert is survived by his sons, Robert (Linda), Bryon (Amy), and Kirk (Elizabeth) Johnson; grandchildren, Nolan, Kyle, Emily, Shelby, Jaxson, and Jocelyn Johnson; and sister, Jane (Michael) Rhines.

The memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, from 8:30 a.m. until the celebration of Robert's life at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 25519 W. Illinois Route 134, Ingleside, IL 60041.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert's name may be made to the cancer or heart disease research organization of your choice, or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
