Obituary

Robert “Bob” J. Paganucci, 81, of Fox Lake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.

Bob was born on July 6, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Julius Paganucci and Irene Mathews. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and successful career in the construction industry, where he worked as an Electrical Foreman. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, Bob earned the respect of colleagues and friends throughout his career.

On August 28, 1968, Bob married the love of his life, Carol Lange, in Rosemont, Illinois. Together they shared nearly 58 years of marriage filled with love, adventure, and cherished memories. Bob and Carol enjoyed traveling together, especially spending time at their second home in Naples, Florida.

Bob had a passion for the outdoors and recreation. He loved being on the water boating, riding his motorcycle, trapshooting, and spending time at the pistol range. Whether enjoying his hobbies or gathering with family and friends, Bob embraced life with enthusiasm and energy.

Family was the center of Bob’s life. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. Those who knew him will remember him as hardworking, welcoming, and full of character. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, never met a stranger, and was always ready with a smile, a story, or a helping hand. To many, he was not only family but also a best friend.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Paganucci; his children, Joseph R. Paganucci and Tracey L. (David) Pardo; his grandchildren, Gianna “Dylan” Paganucci and Valentino Pardo; his brothers, James and Patrick Paganucci; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Paganucci and Irene Mathews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, located at 36455 N. Wilson Road, Ingleside, Illinois. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

Bob’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the laughter, friendship, and love he brought into the lives of so many.
