Richard A. Wick's Obituary

Richard "Dick" Wick, 95, of Fox Lake, formerly of De Pere and Green Bay, WI, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015, at The Springs, Crystal Lake.

He was born August 20, 1920, in Chicago, to the late Hjalmar and Helen (nee Kwarneberg) Wick.  Dick served in the Navy during WWII.

Survivors include his son, Richard (Melissa) Wick of Ingleside; granddaughters, Jennifer (Leo) LaBrie of McHenry and Jessica Wick of McHenry; great granddaughters, Taylor Karppinen and Natalie LaBrie; his late wife's daughter, Pat (Tom) Reed of Hinsdale; and dear friend, Gloria Dembinski.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Hildegard "Dottie" Wick; and siblings, Marion Stevens and Robert Wick.

A memorial service was held at Ingleside United Methodist Church.  Private inurnment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.

Although he did not suffer from Alzheimer's Disease, Dick was a champion of the Alzheimer's Association until his passing.  Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, or 1-800-272-3900, in lieu of flowers, will be appreciated by the family.
