Richard William Stueber, a long time Lake County resident, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 18, 1942 in Chicago to William and Dorothy Gerhardt-Stueber.

Richard was very active in the community. He was a Grant Township Trustee, on the Board of Directors for Landmark Homeowner's Association and Grant Cemetery, a member of Grant Township Republican Club, Treasurer for Bonnie Thompson Carter (Lake County board member), Republican Committeeman and Grant Township Strategic Planning Committee Member. His professional career was committed to education and development of children. He was instrumental in the realization of the Grant Township Field of Dreams playground.

Richard will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Penelope Stueber; his children Richard (Debra) Stueber with their children Kathryn, Richard, Holly and Michael; Robert (Jamie) Stueber with their children Trenten and Drew; Amy Giertych and Jill (Matthew) Olson with their children Haley, Brittney and Jacob; and his sister Phyllis Stueber-Gaffney (Pat).

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 4 PM until 8 PM and will resume on Wednesday, from 8:30 AM until the 10 AM funeral service at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake. Interment will be private.
