HUNTLEY - Richard Steinbach, 77, a resident of Del Webb, Huntley, and a former longtime resident of Duck Lake Woods in Ingleside, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Centegra Hospital - Woodstock.
He was born Nov. 8, 1931, to Ted and Marie nee Foster Steinbach. He had been employed in construction as a flooring installer. He was active in the Duck Lake Woods community, where he raised his family and had enjoyed boating and skiing on Duck Lake. He also enjoyed camping, snow skiing and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Eric (Jeana) Steinbach of Boulder, Colo., and Mark (Donna) Steinbach of Chicago; his grandchildren, Nicholas Steinbach of Yale University and Michaela Steinbach of New York University; his loving companion, Jacqueline Palmer of Huntley; and her children, David (Judy) Rudin of Mesa, Ariz., Nancy Perez of Elgin, Roger (Pamela) Rudin of Hinsdale, Dan (Theresa) Rudin of Crystal Lake, Tom (Laurie) McNamara of Naperville, John Palmer of Chicago and Lisa (Eamonn) Callopy of LaGrange; Jacqueline's five granddaughters and grandson; his sister, Carol (Jack) Kmiecik of Ingleside; and his nephews, Arthur Magden of Ingleside and Richard (Valerie) Magden of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret "Midge" nee Mooney; and his parents.
The visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake at the Chapel on the Lake, a block west of Route 12 and a half-block north of Grand Avenue. And again at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 will be leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m. for an 11 a.m. Catholic Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Fremont Center, (original) Catholic Church, 22333 W. Erhart in Mundelein.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Fremont Center.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 50 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 2015, Chicago, IL 60602 will be appreciated by the family.
