Richard J. Moore

Richard J. Moore, longtime resident of Johnsburg, formerly of Glenview, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2014. He was born June 12, 1928 in Des Plaines to Hugh and Katherine (nee Ritter) Moore.

Richard was a proud member of the Glenview Rural Fire Department where he served as Lieutenant for over 20 years. He was also an avid deer hunter and fisherman. On August 21, 1948 he was united in marriage to Loretta (nee Weber) and celebrated 56 years until her death in 2005. Most of all he was proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Richard will be deeply missed by his sons, Larry and Randy (Nancy) Moore; his grandchildren, Jim (fiancée Laura Rill) Moore and Jessica (Trevor) Johnson; his great-granddaughters, Brinleigh and Makenna; and his extended family, Leslie Churney and Amber Wollenburg.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his sister and by his parents.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 25,  from 9 to 11 AM funeral service at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd, Fox Lake. Burial will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016

All are invited to meet at the cemetery by 1:15 PM.
