Richard "Rich" L. Podolski, 72, of McHenry, passed away at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital Sunday, February 10, 2019.

He was born August 29, 1946, in Chicago, to the late Arlene (nee Urban) and Roman Podolski.  He was the oldest of three brothers.

Richard was a loving husband and devoted father.  He was a Navy veteran and dedicated employee of Illinois Tool Works for almost 40 years—retiring as a manufacturing manager.  Richard was most at home on the water and loved floating on the Chain of Lakes and cruising in the Caribbean.  He enjoyed spending time Bowling, Golfing, and having breakfast with friends.  He volunteered his time by assisting seniors with tax preparation.

Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan (nee Davis); children, Cari (Doug) Heizer and Ryan Podolski; grandchildren, Sofia and Chloe Heizer; and brothers, Gerald (Pam) and Jim (Joanne) Podoski.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Barbara Podolski.

Services will be Thursday, February 14, 2019, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2118 Main St., Spring Grove, IL 60081.  Gathering will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m., closing with Naval Funeral Honors.
