Richard E. Kotecki, Sr., 80, of Tell City, Indiana, formerly of Fox Lake, Illinois and Waldon, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Golden Living Center, Tell City.

He was born August 26, 1936, in LaSalle, Illinois, to the late Martin and Helen (nee Spaer) Kotecki.

Richard was a veteran of the Army and worked for many years as a Conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He had a very full life and created many happy memories with his children, his friends, and his beloved wife, Judith.

Survivors include his children: Amelia (Richard) Christian, David Kotecki, and Helen (Tom Finn) Kotecki; grandchildren: Richard, Christopher, and Andrea Christian, Katherine Kotecki, Aidan Kotecki, and Colin Finn; stepchildren: Laurie (John) Roberts, Kevin (Dana) Dombrowski, and Kelly (David) Luptak; step-grandchildren: Nicole and Mike Beller, Michael, Kevin and Todd Dombrowski, and Logan and Taylor Luptak: step great-grandson: Zane Balderez; sister: Betty Flomian; and some very dear friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife: Judith P. Kotecki; son: Richard E. Kotecki, Jr.; and grandson: Stephen Christian.

The visitation will be Tuesday, August 15, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Interment will follow in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.
