Richard John Jokela, a long time resident of Johnsburg, passed away on October 11, 2012. He was born in Bessemer, MI on April 20, 1949 to Arne and Linda (nee Kompsie) Jokela.
He was a lifetime Detroit Lions fan, an avid boater and basketball fan.
Richard will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Karrie (nee Killoren) Jokela; his dear children, Patrick and Valerie Jokela and Corey Nau; his siblings, Rosemary (Michael) Foresta and Michael (the late Joan) Peltonen and his sister-in-law, Darla Jokela. Many other loving relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Susan Vasquez, Dean and Kurt Jokela.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 15, from 4 p.m. until the 7:30 p.m. funeral service at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake. Interment will be private.
