Priscilla L.
Mazur
September 19, 1943 – March 6, 2015
Priscilla L Mazur
Priscilla L Mazur, a longtime resident of Fox Lake, mother, wife, lover of "the bling" and accomplished traveler, died on Friday, March 6, 2015. She was born in Chicago to William and Evelyn (nee Rybarczyk) Domrese.
Priscilla was whipping up family meals in her kitchen long before it became popular on TV. She was adamant all her children not only learn how to cook but excel at it. As a point of pride she and the family made good ole' fashion polish food for her oldest grandson's wedding.
She took fashion cues from no one. Her signature every day look was anything that involved bling - there was no such thing as too sparkly. This exuberance also came across in every conversation with Priscilla. She exuded love and kindest and strength with every word she spoke. And her love carried over to all her dogs, especially Emme.
Priscilla excelled at any task at hand while being an advocate for working hard but remembering to have fun too! She cherished her long time job at Baxter but also understood family always comes first.
Like her cooking, Priscilla's love for travel transcending to her children. There was no region with water she did not appreciate - from the blue waters of the Caribbean to the beach communities of San Diego. Her travels also inspired her love of exotic flowers such as Gardenias.
Priscilla's loving, nurturing nature will be deeply missed by her entire family; her loving spouse, Colleen Beck; brothers, David (Beverly) and Jerome (Gloria) Domrese; children, William (Missy) Mazur, Sheryl (Mark) Morgan, John (Julie) Mazur, Jerry (Gina) Mazur, Bridget Schuler (Kip Kaminscky), Megan (Luis) Sanchez; grandchildren, Billy (Amy) Mazur, Sarah and Alyssa Morgan, Logan and Audrey Mazur, Samantha, Austin and Brianna Mazur, Danny and Zach Schuler, Brenden Kaminscky, Dylan and Noah Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Talan and Max Mazur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother William Domrese.
Because of her love of family and friends her family will hold a memorial visitation to celebrate her love of life, Tuesday March 17 from 3 until 7:30 PM at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, IL. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
