Patrick M. Erwin, 80, of Fox Lake and formerly of Palatine and Racine, WI, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at JourneyCare, Barrington.  He was born November 13, 1942, in Chicago, to the late James and Anne (nee Bernard) Erwin.

Pat met the love of his life, Marge, in ninth-grade Spanish at Calumet High School.  Although told by their teacher "they wouldn't amount to anything," Pat and Marge celebrated 60 years of marriage, providing an excellent example of partnership, love, and devotion to their daughters and grandchildren.

Pat served as a canine handler in the Air Force and was stationed in the Korean demilitarized zone as a peace keeper.  An idea guy, Pat was an inventor and had Steno pads full of invention ideas.  He was an avid reader, lover of dogs and horses, and golfer.  Above all, Pat was prone to outrageousness and never missed the chance to tell a good joke or make a person laugh.

Pat is survived by his wife Margaret "Marge" (nee Loftus); daughters, Barbara L. Erwin, Kimberly M. (David) Hoffman, and Michele Kreis; grandchildren, Antonio Erwin-Pacione, Stephano (Jess) Erwin, and Makayla Temen, Allison (Josh) Michael, Patrick (Lauren) Hoffman, and Sean Hoffman, and Joseph and Tyler Kreis; and great-grandson, Brooks Michael.
