Patricia J. Soderlund of Ingleside passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 1, 2011. She was born on October 2, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas D. and Mary G. (nee Owens) Brennan.
A talented floral designer, Pat also formerly managed the Lutheran General Hospital Gift Shop. As a 35-year resident of Rolling Meadows, she was a member of Mask and Staff Theatre troupe and St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palatine. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Lutheran General Hospital Volunteer group. She was a classy lady who lived a full life, whether it be parasailing in Mexico (at age 80!), riding an elephant in Thailand, or boating with family and friends on Lake Geneva, Marco Island or the Chain of Lakes.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Arthur W. Soderlund, for whom she provided direct care for the last 10 years. She will be deeply missed by her dear children Lynn (Ann) Soderlund of Ingleside; Michael (Lorainne) Soderlund of Arlington Heights and Thomas (Mary) Soderlund of GA; her grandchildren Thomas William, Kiersten Lynn, James Michael and Eric Benjamin Soderlund; and her cousin Audrey Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Her family invites all friends to join us for an "Irish Wake", a casual, festive celebration of her life and vibrant Irish spirit on Sun., Dec. 4 between 2-5 at Lynn and Ann's home in Ingleside (call 847-910-1552 for directions). A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 5, at 10 A.M. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N Wilson Rd. in Ingleside.
