Nicola C. Votino, 91, of Round Lake Heights, passed away Thursday, March 7, at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview. He was born February 9, 1922, in Schenectady, NY to Clemente and Maria (nee DiPasquale) Votino.
He proudly served in the United States Army, 104th Infantry, "Timberwolves." Nicola was an active member of VFW 4703 where he served as Past Commander; he was a member of Military Order of Cooties of Highland Park, and the Grayslake Lyons Club.
Nicola is survived by his dear children, Nicholas Votino of FL and Laura (Michael) McGuire of Round Lake Heights; cherished grandchildren, Jason (Kriss), Patrick (Zarah), and Nicholas McGuire and Dawn (Peter) Guerrero; six great-grandchildren; his beloved sibling, Clemente McMahon, and by other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann (nee Moavero) Votino, his parents, his brothers George, Harvey, Louie, Al, Jimmie and William, and a grandson, David Votino.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Service on Friday, March 15, 2013, at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
