Nicholas David "Nick" Battis, 24, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 24, 2016, at his home in Ingleside.

Nick was born November 3, 1992, in McHenry, to Gary and Susan (nee Connary) Battis.

Nick was a 2011 graduate of Grant Community High School and a 2016 graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Economics.  He enjoyed his new career at Chase Bank in Arlington Heights.  Nick was a music lover and fitness fanatic with a light-hearted yet sarcastic sense of humor.  A loving brother, son, and friend, Nick brought contagious joy and laughter to all who surrounded him.

In addition to his parents, Gary and Susan, Nick is survived by his best friend and sister, Gwendalyn Battis; uncles, David Connary, and William, Steve (Cheryl), and Mark Battis; girlfriend, Rosie Stoyanova; and life-long friend, Lucien Charland.

The visitation will be Thursday, December 29, from 1-3 pm at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, with Mass following at 3 pm.

Following the Mass, please join the family at the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department Bingo Hall,114 Washington St., Ingleside, for a celebration of Nick's life.  Pizza will be provided as well as a cash bar; howeve,r feel free to bring dishes to share.
