Michael James Butts, "Mike", 55, formerly of Lake Villa, IL passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Chicago, IL

He was born March 9, 1960 in Niles, Michigan, to the late Edwin and Verlene (Folker) Butt.

Survivors include his son, Michael Butts of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Lindsey Maginn, and grandson Miles of Richmond, Illinois; brothers, Kevin (Diane) Butts of Keosauqua, Iowa and Greg (Ellen) Butts of Spring Grove, Illinois; sister, Sherri (Kevin) Murray of Spring Grove, Illinois; nephew Kevin; and nieces, Kaila, Danielle, and Nicole.

Mike was a mechanic by trade. He enjoyed restoring cars, fishing, baseball, drawing , and woodworking. Mike had many friends and had a heart of gold. The family asks that all those who knew him pray that God may provide the guidance, strength, and comfort to keep him warm and safe. He will surely be missed by all that knew him.

A private memorial is being held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made in his name to the charity of one's choice.
