Mary J. Matulka (nee Palazzolo), 88, of Spring Grove, passed away August 3, 2026, at Northwestern McHenry Hospital. She was born December 3, 1937, in Chicago, to the late Anthony and Lena (nee DiJoseph) Palazzolo.

Mary was a registered nurse for many years and created the Continuity of Care, where she served as president of the state organization for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Donald H. Matulka, Sr.; children, Donald J. Matulka Jr. and Lisa Matulka; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In additional to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sisters and brother, Phyllis (Peter) Alfano, Clara (Paul) Aguado, and Joseph (Betty) Palazzolo.

Private family services will be held.
