Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Gibson, of Fox Lake and of Leisure Village for 25 years, passed away peacefully at Centegra Hospital with her loving children at her side on March 2, 2012. She was born on September 13, 1924 in Evanston to John and Linda (nee Keuler) Tustain.
She was an avid Cubs fan as well as WGN Radio fan. Her favorite cartoon character was Maxine. She loved playing card games, golfing and she had fun trying to hit it big playing bingo and the lottery. She also enjoyed visiting casinos. She loved her family and enjoyed get-togethers and outings with them. She had quite a sense of humor and loved joking with everyone. She enjoyed and participated in many of the activities at Leisure Village.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Bill) Hanner of Marengo; Gary Gibson of Fox Lake and Carol (Jack) Clavey of Barrington; grandchildren, Rob (Hollie) Bishop of Woodstock and Samantha and Kevin Clavey of Barrington; great-grandchildren, Allison and Adam; brother-in-law Jack (Rita) Gibson of Arizona; niece, Karen (Bob) May of Gurnee; nephew, John (Malinda) Gibson of South Carolina; great-niece and great-nephews, Becky and Kevin May of Gurnee and Danny, Trevor, Colin and Kurt Gibson, all of South Carolina. She will also be missed by many friends and her cat, Anni.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Gibson, her parents and her sister-in-law, Elaine Gibson.
Service and interment will be held privately by the family.
Memorials in Jackie's name to Chicago Cubs Charities, 1060 W. Addison St., Chicago, IL 60613, would be appreciated.
