Mary V. Cappitelli, a Lake Villa resident for 54 years, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 29, 1927 in Chicago to Raymond and Amonella (nee McMahon) Butts.

She was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Library Science from Carthage College and was a librarian for 40 years, mostly in the Gavin Grade School district. She retired at the age of 83.

Mary will be deeply missed by her dear children, John (Pam) Cappitelli of Rockford; Susan Andrews of Grand Rapids, OH; Paul (Regina) Cappitelli of Kenosha, WI; Marianne Cappitelli of Schaumburg and Philip (Deb) Cappitelli of Antioch; by her 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by many dear friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Paul Cappitelli; her parents, her siblings Rita Markert and William Butts.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 25, from 4 pm until the 6:30 pm funeral service at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. A reception will follow from 7 - 9 pm at Maravela's in Fox Lake. Interment will be private.
