Marion Schwemm Andersen, age 98, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2010.
Marion was born in Woodstock on October 26, 1911 to Albert and Jeannie Ebel, nee Larsen.

Marion began her teaching career, which spanned 43 years, in a one room school in Woodstock, IL and ended in North Barrington School after 27 years teaching first grade there. She received her BA and MA from DeKalb University.

Marion was a long time member of the Lake County Cooperative Extension and was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1999. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake and also its oldest member.

Marion was an avid bowler and traveled the world extensively.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Schwemm Johnson (Gil) and 3 grandchildren: Laura (Joe) Meyers, Brett Johnson and Brian (Darcy) Johnson. She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Zachary Meyers and Matt Penington. She also has 6 step-children and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Eunice Andreas and brother, Albert (Elwanda) Ebel survive as well as several nices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, LeRoy Schwemm in 1939 and by her second husband , Andrew Andersen in 1980.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 10 AM until time of service at 12 Noon, with Pastor W. Paul Weeg officiating at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 North Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake, IL.
