Marie S. Kvaas

A resident of McHenry, for the past 12 years, formerly longtime resident of Ingleside, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born October 19, 1919 in Adrian, Minn., to Jonathan and Inger (nee Williamson) Olson. Marie enjoyed crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, baking, cooking and taking care of her family. She will be remembered for being fun with a good sense of humor.
Marie is survived by her cherished children, Leroy "Lee" (Nancy) Kvaas of Wis., Donald (Lili-Ann), Edward (Martha), Curtis (Janet)Kvaas, all of Ill., a daughter Karen (Wayne) Filas of Ill.;
her dear grandchildren, Edward, Daniel, Kevin, Kelly, Kimberly, Denise, Karen, and Inger, and by her adored great grandchildren, Kyle, Austin, Corrine, Deegan, Delanee, Hayden, Landon, Zoe, Jordan and Elena; her dear sisters, Dolores (Samuel) Sandoval, Margaret (Clyde) Reinke, Lorraine (Clarence) Mikish all of Ill.
Many other dear relatives and friends also survive.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Leif Kvaas, her parents, and by many brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be on Wednesday August 1st from 5-9 p.m. and again Thursday August 2nd from 8:30 until the 10 a.m. service at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake, Il. (The Chapel On The Lake) Interment will follow service at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
