Marge Gentry, 87, of Fox Lake, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, Wisconsin.

She was born July 4, 1935, to the late Edward Pyka and Margaret Belle Croissant, in Peru, Illinois.  Marge married the late Rufus Garnett Gentry on June 14, 1952.

Marge was an exceptional hostess and social person, who would throw a party for almost any event or occasion.  She loved to be surrounded by people and have a full house—especially for holidays.

She was active in the communities she lived in, including: Wauconda Women's Group, member of and running the nursery at Community Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Wauconda, and being past president of the Happy Seniors at the Round Lake Park District. Marge enjoyed crafting and was known for her many collectable Christmas ornaments, as well as canning the many vegetables Rufus grew in their garden.

Marge is survived by her loving children, Ed (Cindy) Gentry of Hebron, Mike (Elizabeth) Gentry of Fox Lake, and Kathy (Mike) Matuszek of St. Charles; seven loving grandchildren and nine loving great-grandchildren; dear sister, Regina Lucy of Elgin; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of children she lovingly babysat and helped to raise over her lifetime.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marge was preceded in death by grandson, Tommy Gentry; and brother, Edward Pyka, Jr.
