Margaret Oman

FOX LAKE - Margaret Oman, 89, of Fox Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.

She was born July 8, 1920, in Chicago, to Frank and Elizabeth (Zimmerman) Koch.

She was a longtime resident of Fox Lake. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed trying new recipes. She was known for her green thumb and her beautiful garden. She was an avid Bulls and Cubs fan. She also had a great love for animals.

She was the devoted mother of Irene (Philip) Perkins, Brian (Kathleen) Oman and Joan Woods; loving mother-in-law of Margaret Oman; cherished grandmother of Todd (Tracy), Crystal and Darrel (Wendy) Oman, Anthony, Raymond (Kathryn) and James Perkins, Cynthia (Paul) Tierney, Carol, Laurie and Jason Oman, and Christopher (Katy), Darren (Lesley), Barry (Teri) and Andrew Woods; devoted great-grandmother of 13; treasured great-great-grandmother of two; dear sister of Wayne Koch, Lorraine and Suzanne (Martin) Krogh; and special aunt of four.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and a son, Darrel Oman.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road (one block west of Route 12 and a half block north of Grand Avenue), Fox Lake. The visitation will continue from 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, until the funeral at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Deacon Larry Spohr, will officiate. Interment will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery, Twin Lakes, Wis.
