It is with great sadness and joy that the family of Manuel Valadez announces he is now resting in the arms of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior, at the age of 84.
He was a devoted father to his children, Sheila (Al) Soto, Edy (Roger) Landa, Vickie (Manny) Granado, and Manuel Valadez, Jr.; loving grandfather to Krystal (Tommy) Rivera, Jonathan Perez, Andrew Granado, Demitri Granado, Ashley (Nick) Earley, Tatiana (Brandon) Kilday, Kai Valadez, Tylor (Ashlyn) Valadez, Marcus Granado, Olivia (Ron) Burns, Sara Granado, and Daniel Soto; loving great-grandpa to Kalista, Addi, Willow, Isabella, Ryatt, Lennox, Briella, and Brooklyn; loving husband of the late Hilda; dear son of the late Idelfonso and Victorina Valadez Acevedo; and a cherished brother and uncle of many.
Manuel was born September 8, 1942, and was raised in Zacatecas, Mexico, he passed away April 3, 2026, in Round Lake. He was a follower of Jesus Christ, and his joys in life included his children, his dog Choo Choo, gardening, playing racket ball, bowling, and golfing.
His life was marked with humble beginnings, generosity, and warmth. Manuel often took people into his home to help them get their start in life. Dad leaves a legacy of memories that touched all who knew him. He sought out reasons to gather family around him, like his birthday and many weekends at his home in Fox Lake. We love you, dad, and will miss all the adventures.
Visitation Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m., at New Hope Christian Community Church, 1020 W. Rollins Rd., Round Lake Beach, IL 60073. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, 22333 W. Erhart Rd., Fremont Center (Mundelein).
