Luana E Kratz (nee Lumber), 72, of McHenry, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017.  She was born April 5, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio.

A member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside, her passions in life included her family, her Grant High School family, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs (one of her proudest moments was seeing her Cubbies win the World Series).

Luana loved helping people by working as a dispatcher for the Fox Lake Police Department, being a founder of the Fox Lake Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, working at Grant High School for 32 years, working at Burger King, and working most recently at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Leonard L. Kratz; sons, Leonard (Danielle) Kratz of McHenry, Frank Kratz of Pell Lake, Wisconsin, and Kurt (Kristine) Kratz of Ingleside; daughter, Luana (Brian) Wolski of McHenry; grandchildren, Ally, Bradley, and Colin Kratz, Emilie and Jake Kratz, Kurt Jr. and Keith Kratz, Chelsee Wilson, and Isaiah and Frank Wolski; sister, Karen Turnbull of McHenry; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Luana was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Luana Lumber.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, June 25, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
