Lorraine “Lori” Elizabeth Billman (nee Cornwell), 79, of Lake County peacefully passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Allure of Zion. She was born December 13, 1946, in Chicago, to Wilbur and Gertrude (nee Bonz) Cornwell.

Lori grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Carl Schurz High School. She went on to marry the love of her life Jim and raise her two boys in Skokie.

Lori, with her husband Jim, was an avid square dancer, who also enjoyed camping, hamburgers, chocolate, and ANY dessert. Most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family.

She is survived by her sons, Jon (Mireya) Billman and Mark (April) Billman; grandchildren, James, Ryin, Joseph, Dakota (Makayla), Riley, and Jase; and great-grandson, Colt.

In addition to her parents, Lori was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Billman on August 14, 1995; and brother, David Cornwell on July 23, 2021.

Lori will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12 p.m., at Joyful Spirit Church, 36325 N. Maple Ave., Ingleside. A reception will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lori’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
