Loretta M. Murrey , a life time resident of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014. She was born on December 26, 1928 in Berwyn to Ralph and Marie (nee Everetts) Buikema.

Loretta enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as attending the Fox Lake Senior Luncheon. She also worked for many years as a voting judge for Grant Township. She was an avid Cubs and Beatles fan and loved all animals.

Loretta will be deeply missed by her loving children, David Murrey, Greg Murrey, Kathleen (John) Pletz and Patrick (Ginny) Murrey; her grandchildren, Alexandra (Dennis) Sommers, Jonathon and Matthew Pletz, Kelly Murrey, Angela and Zachary Pletz; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Ariel, Jonathan, Alyssa, Samantha, Caleb and Briana; and by her sister, Ruth (the late John) Krupo-Fletcher. Many loving nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband Thomas D. Murrey, to whom she united in marriage on June 14, 1947 in Cicero; her son Thomas R. Murrey; her sisters, Marie "Chi Chi" Pendleton and Betty Anderson and by her parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 21 from 5 until 9 PM and resume on Saturday, from 8:30 until the 10 AM funeral service at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Private family burial to follow.
