Lonnie D. Horton, a longtime resident of Fox Lake, Ingleside and Volo, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2012. He was born on December 26, 1941 in Vandalia, Illinois to Kelly Efton and Elizabeth (nee Marks) Horton.
He was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering and fixing machinery, and was the owner of Maple Leaf Tree Service for 25 years.
Lonnie will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 25 years, Diane Horton, his children Kellie, Darrell, Becky, Tina, Lonnie, Jr., Tina, Delbert and Doug. Lonnie has 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012, from 2 PM until the time of the service at 6 PM with Chaplain Joel Bregman officiating, at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment will be at private.
