Sergeant First Class Logan Wehde, 39, of Niceville, FL passed on June 10,2025. Logan was born May 24, 1986 in Chicago, IL and grew up on the water in Ingleside, IL.

Logan was the loving husband of Kirsten Wehde (nee Rizer). Logan was the proud father of Evangeline Grace Wehde and of Liam Logan Wehde (Neelam Patel). Logan is the son of Steven and Christin Wehde, and big brother to Chapin (Tim) Wehde, and Kameron (Amanda) Wehde.

Logan enlisted in the U.S. Army on February 22, 2006. He began his service in the 1st Cavalry Division, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from October 2006 to February 2008 as an Infantryman (11B). In June 2008, he attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Selected for the Special Forces Qualification Course, Logan graduated in May 2010 and joined A Co., 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), where he proudly served as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant (18C).

Logan's military education included the Combat Diver Qualification Course, Combat Dive Supervisor Course, Special Forces Engineer Sergeant Course, Ranger Qualification Course, Airborne School, and several leadership courses. His service was adorned with numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, and Combat Dive Supervisor Badge, among others.

Logan was known for his kindhearted nature, loyalty, and stubborn determination. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was fixing (possibly breaking) an engine or offering a place to stay. His generosity and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His family and friends will forever remember him for his devotion, humor, and strong belief in Captain America.

A memorial service to honor Logan's life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Hamsher Lakeside Funeral Home in Fox Lake, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service starting at 1pm. Logan will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery, Lake Bluff, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Green Beret Foundation or the Special Forces Association .
