Lawrence Hagen, 84, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away surrounded by family on Friday, January 2, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.

Born on June 11, 1930 in Chicago, Larry moved to the Spring Grove area in the mid-1960s.  He was employed with Illinois Bell Telephone/AT&T for 37 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a founding member of All Saints Lutheran Church.  Upon retirement Larry and Amelie moved to the mountains of northern Georgia for 20 years.  In 2010 they moved to Kerrville, Texas, and recently had moved to Lindenhurst to be closer to family.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Amelie; step-children, Susan Sander, Linda (Bob) Zoiss, David (Debbie) Sander, and Kathy (Mike) McCoy; son Jeffrey Hagen; sister Gloria Papp; 8 grandchildren (Seth, Sarah, Michael, Alyssa, Jonathan, Jason, Christopher and Kaitlyn), newly born great-grandson, Aiden, as well as nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna, sisters Frances Wold, Virginia Hagen, Marie Wieczorek; brother Marvin Hagen; and son Gregory Hagen.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5800 State Park Road, Fox Lake, IL.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Journey Care Hospice, All Saints Memorial Fund, International Essential Tremor Foundation, or Riverside Nature Center in Kerrville, Texas.
