Kathryn E. Hastings's Obituary

Kathryn Eileen Hastings, a longtime resident of Ingleside since 1968, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2014. She was born in Chicago on May 1, 1929 to Edward and May (nee Ryan) Dempsey.

Kathryn was an avid card player and played in her Bunco group for many years. She enjoyed being with her family, especially with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Kathryn will be deeply missed by her dear children, Mary Kay (Gordon) Satera, Patrick (Elaine), William, Michael and James (Michelle) Hastings; her grandchildren, Theresa (Patrick) Barnes, Andy (Misa) and Cindy Satera, Patrick, Allison and Christopher Hastings, Jamie (Matt) Weger, Ryan Hastings, Sarah (John) Morley and Kathryn Hastings; her 7 great-grandchildren, and by her sister Agnes Brown.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William B. Hastings, her siblings, Bishop Michael Ryan Dempsey and Ann Dempsey-Burke.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from 4 until 8 p.m. at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Funeral mass on Thursday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside. All are invited to go directly to the church on Thursday. Private family burial to follow.
