Kathleen "Kathy" S. Smith, 70, of Belvidere, formerly of Palatine and Spring Grove, died suddenly Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at home.  She was born January 19, 1950, in Melrose Park, to the late William G. Smith II and Evelyn (nee Moore) Smith.

A thoughtful and well-liked person, Kathy is survived by her siblings, William G. Smith III and Marguerite "Peggy" (Craig) Fry; nephews and nieces, Paul (Rebecca) Hines, James (Donna) Hines, Paula (Phil) Grossman, Juli Kintzler, Jacque Hines, and Michael Hines, Amy Artis Smith, Jennifer Lawlor, and Steve Smith, and Susan (Mark) Kienlen and David Smith; many great nephews and nieces; and by sister-in-law, Nancy Smith.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Smith; and nephew, Paul Vincent Smith.

A private Mass in Kathy's name will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, Spring Grove.  Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Spring Grove.
